Our family had the privilege of being able to get a digital nomad visa and move to Spain in 2025. Daily life as an immigrant expat is filled with new experiences and numerous challenges, just figuring out how to do everyday things in a new language and with new systems. The day-to-day small things are what make living abroad an adventure. Sure, it’s cool to be able to jump on a plane and cheaply visit Rome or Paris, but figuring out how to ask a butcher to sell you ground chicken can be comical, frustrating, and feels like a huge accomplishment after you successfully get what you asked for. This blog is to share both big and small moments, to share the daily rituals, unique bureaucratic processes, and funny moments all people moving to a new country experience in their own way.
